TROUBLESHOOTING INSTRUCTIONS
We'd like to help you connect to Goucher Radio.
Could you tell us the following:
1) Are you on Windows, or OS X, and what version ( i.e. Win 2000, XP, etc.)
2) What is your connection and speed to the internet (i.e. dialup, DSL, cable modem, etc.)
3) What error messages are you seeing when you start the stream.
4) Check out the page:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/troubleshooting/
...and write down what happens.
Here again for your convenience are the steps for getting QuickTime installed. If you've already installed QuickTime, you can just skip to the section 'If you still can't connect'
A) Disable any firewall on your computer temporarily
B) Download the latest version of iTunes/QuickTime from
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
C) Install the software and then reboot your computer.
Try connecting to the Goucher website at http://www.goucher-radio.net
If you still can't connect from Windows:
1) Go to Windows Control Panels - QuickTime
2) Choose the 'Advanced' tab
a) Set the Streaming, Transport Setup
b) Choose 'Transport Protocol' - HTTP, Port ID: 80
c) Click OK.
Once you connect, re-enable your firewall, and make sure you can still connect. If you reenable your firewall and can't connect set your firewall to allow the QuickTIme player to have access to 'all ports', both 'udp' and 'tcp'.
If you're on OS X:
1) Go to 'System Preferences'
2) Choose the QuickTime Preferences
3) Go to the 'Streaming' tab, choose 'Automatic' Streaming speed
4) Go to the 'Advanced' tab
a) Choose 'Custom' transport setup
b) Choose 'HTTP' Transport Protocol
c) Port ID: 80
d) Click OK
Reboot computer and try the Goucher stream again (and also write down what happens)
If this still does not work, check:
1) Are you are running any firewall software? If so, set your firewall to allow the QuickTIme player to have access to 'all ports', both 'udp' and 'tcp'.
2) Are you running or download acceleration? If so, disable it.
Reboot your computer and try again.
